Harry Potter (Not)

Harry Potter is a publishing phenomenon, and has certanly got many children interested in reading, not to mention reversing the decline in boarding education.

But we've seen pupils who are struggling to understand a short story go off to the shopping centre at midnight to get the latest Harry Potter. We know that for these children it's a status thing to show off. There's no way they're going to read with understanding.
